This is the first piece from the Medieval Apocalypse Art Studies series by SHA’ELL and FireSign Studios. Inspired by illuminated manuscript works of the middle ages, this unfolding body of work seeks to capture the unsettling imagery of ancient Christian apocalyptic illustrations.
Deceiver of the Marked is inspired specifically by details from the Bamberg Apocolypse (11th century). It features an angel leading the False Prophet, bound together with Satan to their final judgement. Note the DNA-spiral forked tounges as the human conforms to the beast at a fundamental level.
The high-quality canvas print is tight and flat and will always stay so. The frame is built with a solid face to support the canvas and prevent deforming.
